Australia’s waterways are alive with curious creatures, some rare, some resilient, all remarkable. This limited run Rheo the River Turtle brooch honours one of Australia’s most fascinating native species with a sleek shell and a story as unlikely as it is true.

Design Story
Rheo, the last of his kind, glides through the water with a unique albeit amusing hidden talent—let’s just say he has an interesting way of taking a deep breath underwater, and his closest friends call him 'Bubbles'.

Each Erstwilder piece is made from laser-cut and layered resin, hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. As all of Erstwilder's designs are lovingly glued, assembled and painted by hand, there can be very slight variations and blemishes from piece to piece. Due to the hand-mixed nature of the resins in Erstwilder's designs, it is also common and normal to find tiny flecks or bubbles in the resin layers. All in all, this just makes each piece as special and unique as you are.

Brooch clasps are made with a 100% stainless steel pin and plated brass screws. Please note, components change over time and may be made with other materials.
